Members of the Legal Community,
You are warmly invited to attend the 73rd Annual Red Mass, a time-honored tradition that marks the beginning of the judicial year for San Antonio’s legal community.
Date: Thursday, October 16, 2025
Time: 6:00 p.m. (Procession begins at 5:45 p.m.)
Location: San Fernando Cathedral, 115 Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX
Hosted by the St. Mary’s University School of Law, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of San Antonio and the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild, this year’s Red Mass continues to bring together judges, attorneys, paralegals, lawmakers, and legal organizations in a spirit of unity and prayer.
The Most Rev. Gustavo García-Siller, M.Sp.S., Archbishop of San Antonio, will serve as principal celebrant and homilist. Patricia E. Roberts, J.D., Dean of St. Mary’s University School of Law, will deliver the welcome remarks.
Rooted in a tradition dating back to 1245, the Red Mass serves as a reminder that our shared pursuit of justice transcends differences and unites us in service to the Rule of Law.
The evening will begin with a ceremonial procession from Main Plaza, as the legal community marches under red banners before entering the historic Cathedral. The Mass is open to all community members and all faith traditions.
For those unable to attend in person, the Red Mass will be livestreamed on Catholic Television at www.catholictv.org
We encourage you to share this invitation with your colleagues and organizations. Please share the flyer or information for posting with your organizations and/or firms to help spread the word.
We look forward to gathering with you for this meaningful celebration of faith, justice, and unity.
